Building Bridges - Meeting Former Director of Development of UNAA ,Mr. Damiano Kigoye
Date: 16th December 2025
Location: Los Angeles, California

Our Los Angeles Journey:
Our journey to Los Angeles began with a powerful connection at the heart of the Ugandan diaspora community.
During our first visit, we had the distinct honor of meeting Mr. Damiano Kigoye—a respected leader and influential voice within the Ugandan community in North America. His extensive service includes roles as former Director of Development for the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA), former President of the Ugandan Community organization in California, and Secretary General of the California Africa Trade Commission. He currently serves as the Brand Ambassador for Housing Finance Bank (Uganda) in the United States.
From the moment we met, the experience was both warm and inspiring. Mr. Kigoye welcomed the Orange Oak Leaf team with openness and shared invaluable insights into the history, growth, and aspirations of Ugandans living across the United States and Canada.
His perspective reinforced something we deeply believe in—that the diaspora is a vital partner in shaping Uganda’s future. It also strengthened our commitment to building a trusted bridge between Ugandans abroad and opportunities back home.
This first encounter set the tone for our entire Los Angeles visit—one rooted in connection, trust, and a shared vision for sustainable growth and national development
